On March 25th, the Orlando, Flordia-based singer songwriter Terri Binion will release The Day After The Night Before, her first album in over fourteen years. This collection of 11 songs summarizes her journey, or attempt rather, at finding some sense of normalcy after enduring a year that saw the tragic loss of her wife, along with both parents, and an aftermath that included a long and unsuccessful bid for justice due to a legal system still struggling to recognize same sex marriage. Today, PopMatters premiered "Burden Song," the second track to be released from the album. Editor Sarah Zupko called Binion a "singer-songwriter's singer-songwriter" and praised her for her "meticulously crafted lyrics and consummate musicality." Stream the song here: http://www.popmatters.com/post/terri-binion-burden-song-audio-premiere/ The Day After The Night Before chronicles Binion's personal journey through her pain and loss, while instilling a sense of true love and hope. With each of her previous releases, Leavin' This Town and Fool, she has demonstrated a knack for clear-eyed honesty and a deep understanding of the human condition. Over the course of her twenty-year career, Terri Binion has built a devoted fan base that happens to include Lucinda Williams (who sang on Binion’s last album, 2004’sFool), Jim White (who penned a heartfelt bio that appears on her website), and songwriting legend Jimmy Webb (who, in his biography, singled out Binion as one of the most promising songwriters working today).
