This song makes a statement. A statement about the world we are living in and some of the issues we are facing. “Everything that I loved about America was becoming a PC issue,” says McKee. “You can’t say the pledge at school because someone gets offended. You can’t pray at football games and everyone bends over backwards for other countries. We basically crafted all this anger into a song.”
After kick starting 2017 with a successful tour down under in Australia, performing at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and attending Country Radio Seminar, performing and doing endless media interviews, he’s ready for an unstoppable year ahead. Coming off the heels of his last release Lightning Bugs, which was a heart-felt, lighthearted tune off his last project 'American Dream,' produced by Grammy-nominated Kent Wells (Dolly Parton). McKee is bringing a new sound while still staying true to who he is as an artist., He is now on the road pushing those boundaries, seeping in infectious melodies while injecting emotion into the music. About Tony McKee: A native of Campbellsville, KY, it’s clear this artist always had music in his blood. His entire family sang or played a musical instrument. With his mother’s love of Elvis Presley and his father’s love for George Jones and Buck Owens, these three legends became a staple in his life. This lit a fire in McKee that could not be put out. Describing his style and sound as real, organic and country, his surreal feeling as a performer came at his high school graduation senior class show where he took the stage and performed Friends are Friends Forever by Michael W. Smith. As he gears up for an endless career, “I want to connect with everyone I meet. Sure, I have the starry-eyed goals of winning this award and that award and being adored by my fellow recording artists, but the main thing for me is to always be a person that the fans come up to me and say, ‘you’re real and that’s what I love about you.’ For more information, visit Tony McKee at the following: Website: www.TonyMcKeeMusic.com Facebook: @TonyMcKeeMusic Twitter: @TonyMcKeeMusic Instagram: @Tony_McKee_Music
