Turnpike Troubadours Roll Into 2016 with Sold Out Shows and a New Tour

Nashville, TN (Press Release)- Acclaimed Oklahoma outfit Turnpike Troubadours are returning to the road this Spring with an expansive string of tour dates covering their home turf and into the Midwest. The band is touring in support of their 2015 self titled third album, which received coverage in a range of outlets from The Wall Street Journal to Noisey to Paste Magazine. American Songwriter said, “…the Oklahoma band’s steady rise in popularity has come precisely because it doesn’t take the obvious route.” The band was also the subject of an extensive feature in Playboy Magazine on the new bad boys of country. After a short break in December/January, Turnpike Troubadours have kicked off 2016 strong with a string of sold out shows in February in venues ranging from 850 at the smallest to 15,000 tickets sold at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. What they have accomplished is truly a DIY phenomenon that continues to grow, and turns heads. Their fans are all over. In the band’s strongest markets in Texas and Oklahoma, they regularly sell out rooms that range from 1,000 – 5,000. However, the capacity crowds are not limited to one region. Turnpike Troubadours have toured both coasts, proving that their reach is equally as potent. The band has sold out Joe’s Bar in Chicago (1,000 cap), The Troubadour in Los Angeles, and have played to crowds of over 500 in Boston, New York, Atlanta, Charlotte, NC, and San Francisco. Turnpike Troubadours have also appeared at high profile festivals including Pickathon, Austin City Limits, Summer Camp, and will be performing at Stagecoach in May of 2016.

Turnpike Troubadours hit a major milestone in 2015 when The Turnpike Troubadours album debuted at #3 on the Country Album chart, and cracked the Top 20 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. What makes these numbers even more impressive if that despite their massive and dedicated following, the band flies relatively under the radar operating as a true independent underdog.
