Los Angeles-based trio Willodean combine indie-rock, power-pop, and American roots music with beautiful arrangements and a crystalline studio sound echoing the melodic smarts of Sufjan Stevens and packing the instrumental punch of bands like Wilco. Willodean’s unique sound derives from the diverse musical backgrounds of its three members: the southern roots of front man Abbie Huxley, the smart, songwriting of Randy Wooten, and the indie rock edge of producer/bass player Eric Holden. In 2017, the band will release four EPs, the first being Awesome Life Decisions: Side One [released February 20th], a break-up album that showcases the band's appreciation for pop melodies and guitar muscle. TDC is pleased to premiere the lyric video for one of the EP's tracks, "Shy." The performance video, done using varied colors and drawn over, slightly muddled images perfectly captures the overall experience and inner feelings of someone who goes through life unnoticed; leaving you sensing his loneliness and empathetic to his turmoil. "Nobody hears me enter Or hears me say goodbye Still as a pond in Winter I'm so shy" Enjoy the video in full below. For more information, visit HERE.
