Wade Bowen has been confirmed as a headliner at this year's Reckless Kelly's Celebrity Softball Jam on Sunday, May 15 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX. Proceeds from the celebrity softball game and music festival benefit The SIMS Foundation. Bowen will join a lineup of 20+ artists performing on two stages in the outfield of the stadium following a softball game featuring an all-star lineup of musicians, professional athletes and media celebrities led by brothers Willy and Cody Braun of Reckless Kelly. MLB World Series champion pitchers Josh Beckett, Greg Swindell and Norm Charlton and NFL players Kasey Studdard and Ahmad Brooks have been added to the softball rosters, joining Brooks Kieschnick, Glenn Wilson Sr., Glenn Wilson Jr., and media personalities Andy Langer (KGSR), Eric Raines (KOKE-FM), B-Doe (KLBJ), Kirsten Winquist (Sirius XM), Addie Broyles (Austin American-Statesman), Anne Hudson (KASE 101), Erin Hogan (The Horn), Brendan Anthony (Texas Music Office), Charlie Hodge, TJ Greaney (Country Line Magazine) and others. Willy and Cody Braun will draft players to their two teams - the "Sultans of Sing" and the "One Hit Wonders" - at a special draft party on Thursday, April 21 at Threadgill's (6416 N. Lamar) from 5:30 - 7:00pm. Proceeds from the event will benefit The SIMS Foundation and Reckless Kelly's ongoing efforts to support youth sports programs in Central Texas. Since it began eight years ago, Reckless Kelly's Celebrity Softball Jam has raised over $300,000 for area youth leagues, including the funding of a $150,000 renovation of Mabson Field in East Austin, TX.
Tickets are on sale via RKCSJ.org for $20 if purchased between now and April 30, and for $30 if purchased after May 1.
