(New York, NY – February 9, 2018 Press Release) – Even after a decade-plus of success, country rocker Wade Bowen has raised the bar on his own rockstar reputation and evocative storytelling with his new album, Solid Ground, available now. He’s finding Solid Ground today at the top of the iTunes chart, as the new album soars to #1 on the Country Chart. This is Bowen’s first release on Thirty Tigers and was "the most demanding writing and recording experience of my career,” thanks in large part to his friend and respected East Nashville based producer, Keith Gattis.
Bowen’s mix of country, blues, rock and Americana has never blended as impactfully as on Solid Ground, which includes contributions from Miranda Lambert, Andrew Combs, Jack Ingram, Waylon Payne, Angaleena Presley, Jon Randall, Lucie Silvas, and Charlie Worsham among others. The players on the album are also a who’s who – Audley Freed (Black Crowes) on guitar, Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow) on guitar and lapsteel, Fred Eltringham (Wallflowers, Willie Nelson, Robert Plant) on drums, Billie Mercer (Ryan Adams, Lucinda Williams) on bass, and on keys, Jenn Gunderman (Sheryl Crow), Rami Jaffee (Wallflowers, Foo Fighters), and John Henry Trinko (Randy Houser).
The three early tracks from Solid Ground set the album’s tone by conjuring nostalgia for lost love, departures, and the glory days. “Acuña” quickly found its way to #1 on the Texas radio charts; “Day of the Dead” notably features a “mariachi influence, with accordion, Spanish guitar and a horn section augmenting Bowen's more familiar Red Dirt shuffle” (Rolling Stone); and “So Long Sixth Street” was dubbed “a woeful missive” (Entertainment Weekly).
The cover of Solid Ground depicts a weathered map stamped into the cracked red dirt of Texas. Early reviews of its country rock sound prove that Wade Bowen has readied an album fit for those whom Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Mellencamp are as influential as Guy Clark.
