![]() NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Press Release) – If fan response to the trailer for unapologetically profane podcast from country outlier Wheeler Walker Jr. is any indication, the podcast itself is destined to attract an equally ardent audience when it debuts May 2. The format is decidedly un-PC. Walker describes it as “where I f*ckin’ rant and rave and act like a f*ckin’ madman.” The fans get it and clearly want more of the brash trash-talker. The trailer alone managed to make its way to the No. 1 music podcast on the iTunes store, and No. 30 for ALL podcasts. The first two episodes of the flagrantly provocative podcast will feature interviews with Morgane and Chris Stapleton and Bill Burr, respectively, with more guests to be announced the coming weeks. The podcast features the same wild, careless, take-no-prisoners style that fans have embraced in Walker’s music. And fans are anxious to hear more when the singer, songwriter, and trailblazer releases his second album Ol’ Wheeler on June 2.
Walker lives on the edge of frustration and fist-pounding anger – and says whatever the hell he wants and he doesn’t just live with the consequences, he enjoys the polarizing reactions. Walker has reassembled the team that turned his debut Redneck Shit into the surprise hit of 2016 with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell) at the helm of a crack band of Nashville’s best players. Walker’s debut went to the top of the Billboard Comedy Albums chart upon its release last February and debuted at No. 9 on the Country Albums chart – marking the first time in nearly a decade an album appeared on both.
