Whitney Rose Tunes Up for South Texas Suite Wrap Tour

Countrypolitan songwriter Whitney Rose celebrates her return to Lone Star State after a four-month tour that included North America, the UK and Europe with – fittingly – a suite of shows in South Texas. One highlight among many was a memorable night in Utrecht, where she played to 3,000 people opening for The Mavericks. Rose was also greeted with many of her own sold-out shows throughout the tour. 
 
South Texas Suite, released in January by Six Shooter Records, is Rose’s most recent and highly praised EP. “Recorded in Dale Watson’s Ameripolitan Studios, the album offers up jaunty conjunto flavor, waltzing dreaminess, and a nice bit of brazen boot stomping in the span of only six tunes,” wrote Dallas critic Kelly Dearmore. ​

From The Continental Club to Buck’s Backyard, from The Mucky Duck to Poodies Hilltop, Rose’s Texas jaunt will be a fine homecoming for an artist who has immersed herself in the sound and style of Austin’s scene.
