ASHEVILLE, NC (Press Release)-- The New Stew is a “super group” of a handful of fine musicians from all genres of music that features Corey Glover (Living Colour, Galactic) on vocals, Roosevelt Collier (The Lee Boys) on Lap Steel/ Pedal Steel, Yonrico Scott (Derek Trucks Band, Royal Southern Brotherhood) on percussion, Dave Yoke (Susan Tedeschi Band, Dr. John, Scrapomatic) on guitar, Jared Stone (Stone’s Stew) on drums, and Matt Slocum (Oteil and the Peacemakers, Col. Bruce Hampton & Aquarium Rescue Unit, The Lee Boys) on piano. This project was formed with one focused goal, to pay respect to those recordings that influenced the players and to re-imagine recordings that they feel should be heard and experienced in a live setting.

The first homage will be paid in Spring of 2016 when the group makes its debut in select cities playing the classic Bill Withers - Live At Carnegie Hall album from start to finish. It is more than a labor of love, it is a way to allow the public to experience something again or in many cases the first time and reconnect with this classic recording over four decades since it’s release. The tour kicks off in early May in Cincinnati before heading up north to Philadelphia, Annapolis, Brooklyn, and Washington, DC and then loops down south for shows in Asheville and Atlanta.

Bill Withers’ performance at Carnegie Hall on October 6, 1972, was recorded, and released as Live At Carnegie Hall in the following year. Recorded less than a year and a half since Withers quit his day job to pursue music full time, the then rising soul star commands the historic New York stage with veteran poise and power with songs like "Use Me", “Ain't No Sunshine”, and “Lean On Me.” In counting years as a live performer he was a novice but his ability to transform the hallowed venue to a tiny club and hold the audience's attention like a conversation, a feat that heightens the intimacy of the performance and accentuates the intensity of the songs.

(Press Release) The Mining Co. offer up a luxuriously produced and heartfelt collection with their debut album “Burning Sun & The Atomic Powers Within”. The album, like its title, is an intriguing set of deep songs which have a wonderfully loose analogue band feel, led by enigmatic London-based musician Michael Gallagher’s voice and songwriting at the forefront.
 
With the mantra “my country heart, was yours from the start”,  the opening track sets the scene for an album of addictive melodies that wouldn’t be out of place in the classic Laurel Canyon era nor beside the likes of later US alt-folk legends like Will Oldham, Jason Molina and Mark Kozelek.
 
The listener may also feel solemn wintery London under-pinning the songs, the rustic shuffle of Gallagher’s Irish roots and a subtle European heat, having been co-produced by Gallagher in Spain with legendary impresario Paco Loco. Gallagher’s songs breathe with their own poignant moods and stories through the palette of those influences and there’s both a fragile intimacy and richness in the production which gives these songs a wide-screen quality and yet allows them to speak straight to the heart.
 
Songs like “Cover Of Night” with lush organ and “Keep On Rollin’” filled with string backdrops and harmonies instantly please whilst “Lonesome Bird” with its hypnotic banjo and distant distorted electric guitar and “Shoot The Stars”with its almost Johnny Cash-style sadness plumb darker depths of melancholy. All eight tracks on offer here are immediately familiar though bare repeating for a worthwhile unravelling of layer upon layer of depth, growth and warmth which allow their own individual nuances with Gallagher at the helm to show just how to pull off a rare feeling of timelessness which is so hard to come by and something all music lovers long for, the classic album.

Contemporary Country singer-songwriter, Michelle Knopick, debuted on the most famed country radio station, WSM 650AM, home of the Grand Ole Opry. Her feature on the morning show, with Bill Cody, included her interview and radio release of her newest single,“Fairytales.” “Fairytales” is now available on iTunes, as well, and is soon to be available on multiple other distribution and streaming outlets, as well. The release has led to an immense growth in attention, with hundreds upon hundreds of fans subscribing to Knopick’s social media accounts. The WSM debut has opened doors to various radio stations, who are contacting Knopick for phone interviews and continuous single play.

"17 Miles" is a tale of broken dreams, about which Jared stated, "As a teenager, all I wanted was to leave Oklahoma and never look back.  The day I worked up the nerve to go, I had a flat tire just 17 miles down the road.  Never got any further than that."
