Austin, TX—November 13, 2014--"Austin City Limits" (ACL) proudly presents an hour with music sensation Eric Church. The episode premieres Saturday, November 15th at 9pm ET/8pm CT as part of the iconic PBS music series’ milestone Season 40. Church has blazed his own trail to superstardom and now makes his ACL debut with his signature brand of no holds barred country music. ACL airs weekly on PBS stations nationwide (check local listings for times) and full episodes are made available online for a limited time at http://video.pbs.org/program/austin-city-limits/ immediately following the initial broadcast. The show's official hashtag is #acltv40. Famous for a game changing live show, Church performs songs from his critically-acclaimed, chart-topping 2014 album The Outsiders in his ACL debut. The music rebel’s distinctively hard-rocking spin on country, influenced as much by AC/DC and Metallica as Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings, has earned him a huge audience outside the confines of country radio. Church appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone this year and was named one of their “50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now.” NPR raves, “Eric Church is working on a level that few other country artists of his generation can touch.” “This is gonna be fun,” says the North Carolina native, clearly enjoying his first visit to the ACL stage. Church's appearance is a twelve-song tour-de-force that presents the performer at the top of his game. Delivering a host of hits in his trademark aviators, Church’s crowd-pleasing set is filled with anthems about youth, family and outliers that ignite through songwriting skill, powerful riffs and energetic vocals. Highlights include the rebellious “The Outsiders”, the autobiographical title track “Sinners Like Me” from his 2006 debut and the Grammy-nominated anthem “Springsteen” from his 2011 breakthrough Chief, with the Austin audience providing the “whoa-ohs” of the chorus. Church brings it all home solo, showcasing his softer side with the heartfelt set-closing ballad “A Man Who Was Gonna Die Young.” "Eric and his band know how to rock harder than many rock ‘n roll bands," says ACL executive producer Terry Lickona, "and his music and the words behind it have a way of reaching fans way beyond the usual borders of country music. He's a perfect fit for ACL." Eric Church Setlist: "Creepin'" "Guys Like Me" "Give Me Back My Hometown" "Cold One" "Sinners Like Me" "Homeboy" "Drink In My Hand" (Click HERE for a preview clip of this song) "These Boots" "Smoke A Little Smoke" "Springsteen" "The Outsiders" "A Man Who Was Gonna Die Young" The complete lineup for the full thirteen-week season, including six new episodes to air beginning January 3, 2015, will be announced in the coming weeks. Originally from South Dakota, Sam Outlaw is a country singer living in Los Angeles. While relatively new to the scene, 2014 has been a pivotal year for him. CMT premiered his first-ever music video last Christmas, after which his second music video became a viral hit, premiered by The Bluegrass Situation and shared by thousands in the Americana community. Word spread about Sam’s live shows throughout Southern California and this buzz earned him a slot at The Stagecoach Festival in the Coachella Valley in April. He followed up this appearance with his Nashville debut at the world-renowned live music showcase, Music City Roots. He has just returned from Nashville where he was a featured artist at AmericanaFest and has now begun tracking his new full-length album, Angeleno, produced by roots music legend Ry Cooder. Some of LA's finest musicians were hand-picked for the Angeleno sessions, including Bo Koster (My Morning Jacket), Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Gabe Witcher (Punch Brothers), Danny Garcia (Reverend Baron) as well as Jeremy Long (pedal steel), and Joachim Cooder (drums and co-producer). Sam writes original songs that seek to capture the spirit of the traditional country music he learned from his favorite singers: George Jones, Willie Nelson, Gene Watson, Don Williams, Keith Whitley, Dwight Yoakam, etc. Click here to find out more about the making of Sam's new album, Angeleno. Watch the music video, here. Filmed in the historic downtown square of Gallatin, TN, the setting aptly portrays the song's imagery of small town life. Produced by Gear Seven Creative (Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Wade Bowen), the project is a one-shot music video, filmed from the perspective of a single camera in one long take. Fans can go alongside Hoge as he strolls through everyday life including a walk through the district’s tattoo parlor, a drive through the charming square in a classic Chevy car and a performance at the local pizza place. “Middle Of America” exclusively premiered on ROLLING STONE COUNTRY. The driving tune is currently spinning on SiriusXM’s The Highway and climbing the Country music charts. "Middle Of America" is the lead single from Hoge’s forthcoming album produced by Marshall Altman, which is due in early 2015. Hoge catapulted into the national spotlight with the release of his top-selling single “Strong.” Providing the musical backdrop for General Motor’s 2014 Chevy Silverado ad campaign, “Strong” has sold more than 200,000 copies and is featured on Hoge’s latest album NEVER GIVE IN. The celebrated project peaked at No. 4 on the Americana Airplay Charts and held steady in the Top 10 for fifteen consecutive weeks. Breaking into mainstream country, the Nashville native has penned Lady Antebellum’s “Better Off Now (That You’re Gone)” and the Platinum-selling No. 1 smash “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” recorded by the Eli Young Band. “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” earned Hoge nominations for the 2013 GRAMMY Country Song of the Year, 2013 ACM Song of the Year and 2012 CMA Song of the Year. ASHEVILLE, NC -- Donna the Buffalo just passed the marker as their 25th year as a band and have proven to be a consistent purveyor of American music. What’s the recipe? To be sure, it’s infused with more spices than you’ll find at a Cajun cookout by way of a southern-fried, rockin’ country old-time jamboree. “For the dizzying array of styles and genres with which they work, Donna The Buffalo maintain a surprising level of consistency. The New York-based band has played around with folk, zydeco, and many other musical ideas over the course of their 25-year career, but they retain a sharp focus that has helped them create some truly lasting music,” writes Elmore Magazine. Donna the Buffalo will be celebrating the New Year in Florida starting with three nights at Skippers in Tampa (12/30/14- 1/1/15) and three days of shows at the Green Parrot in Key West (1/2-4), followed by shows in Boca Raton, Orlando, and Valdosta before making their way up for further shows in Atlanta and Raleigh. They pick back up again on Winter Tour towards the end of January with shows in Asheville, NC and Falls Church, VA. February brings the band to Charlotteville, VA; Saranac Lake, NY; Ardmore PA and then back down to Florida to Miami for the Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival. Stay tuned to DonnaTheBuffalo.com for additional Winter Dates. Donna the Buffalo is Jeb Puryear (vocals, electric guitar) and Tara Nevins (vocals, guitar, fiddle, accordion, scrubboard) joined by David McCracken (Hammond organ, Honer Clavinet & piano), Kyle Spark (bass) and Mark Raudabaugh (drums). “It's been really fun with this lineup,” Puryear says. “You get to the point where you're playing on a really high level, things are clicking and it's like turning on the key to a really good car. It just goes.” “You have to do just what you want to do, and everyone likes different things,” Nevins says. “Both Jeb and I come from this background of old-time fiddle music, which is very natural, very real, very under-produced, and all about coming from the gut—flying by the seat of your pants. So we have that in us, too.” Donna the Buffalo debuted their first studio album in five years Tonight, Tomorrow and Yesterday, in the spring of 2013 via Sugar Hill Records. All Music Guide says the album, “highlights everything this consistent band does, and it has a warm, live-sounding production… This is what 21st century Americana sounds like, a little bit of this and that from anywhere wrapped up into a poignant, jamming dance reel, a place where the past and history meet easily in the immediate now and everybody feels like dancing.” The group draws its inspiration from a cherished part of the American heritage: the old-time music festivals of the south that drew entire towns and counties together. “Those festivals were so explosive, and the community and the feeling of people being with each other, that's the feeling we were shooting for in our music,” Puryear says. “Donna the Buffalo is an extension of the joy we've found.” Over the years, the band has also built a following that proudly calls itself The Herd, along with a well-deserved reputation for crafting social narratives and slipstream grooves without equal. To merely call this “roots music” does it disservice, for the roots nurtured by Puryear and Nevins run wild, deep and strong—a tribute to how much Donna the Buffalo marries musical trailblazing and tradition. "It’s a great feeling to promote such a feeling of community, like you’re really part of something that’s happening, like a movement or a positive force…” Nevins says, “All those people that come and follow you and you recognize them and you become friends with them — you’re all moving along for the same purpose. It is powerful. It’s very powerful, actually." Donna the Buffalo has toured the nation for over twenty five years with an ever-evolving grassroots sound and plans to keep on doing so for many years to come. Larry Keel has had a fantastic 2014 and is excited to celebrate with you! Some highlights include his appearance with Sam Bush at this year’s Lockn’ Festival and he’s been on tour with Yonder Mountain String Band throughout South east, Mid West, North East this fall. He’ll be heading to Puerto Morelos, Mexico w/ all the Bluegrass buddies to play Strings and Sol in Mexico in mid-Dec. Also, stay tuned for more information on an upcoming studio release due out in the spring of 2015 with some very special guests! Larry Keel is described by some reviewers as the most powerful, innovative and all-out exhilarating acoustic flatpicking guitarist performing today. Keel has absorbed the best lessons from his Bluegrass family upbringing, both sides deeply steeped in the rich mountain music culture and heritage of Southwest Virginia. From there, he has always integrated that solid musical grounding and natural-born talent with his own incomparable approach to flatpicking the guitar and composing original music. He's also got a knack for choosing interesting and appealing material from all realms of music with guts, whether it's a tune written by a fellow songwriter/musician friend, or a tasty cover from any number of genres all over the map. Keel has a variety of musical formats swirling around the calendar each year: look out for his core band, The Larry Keel Experience (featuring Will Lee on soulful, blues-grass 5 string banjo, penetrating vocals and exceptional song-writing contributions and Jenny Keel on upright bass, with impeccable timing, solid yet imaginative bass lines and vocal harmonies). “Hot and fluent bluegrass act showcasing Larry Keel’s dazzling guitar skills and gruff, baritone vocals, wife Jenny’s granite-firm bass guitar work... Good folks, amazing roots music,” writes Tad Dickens with the Roanoke Times. The versatility of his talents is pretty irresistible, and has earned Keel the highest respect and billing among the top acoustic musicians alive, and some now gone: Tony Rice, Chris Thile, Vassar Clements, Sam Bush, Del McCoury, John Hartford, Bill Monroe, Peter Rowan, and Darol Anger to name a few. And his fierce, high-spirited energy also appeals to young rockers, jammers and alt country pickers and fans who are equally drawn to Keel’s deep rumbling voice, his earthy and imaginative song-writing, and his down-home-gritty-good-time charm. Keel regularly collaborates with JamBand and Rock giants Yonder Mountain String Band, Keller Williams, Jorma Kaukonen, David Nelson, Little Feat, Rebirth Brass Band, Dirty Dozen Brass, Railroad Earth, members of String Cheese Incident and Leftover Salmon, amongst others. For Keel the musical mission is always clear: to let technical skill, honest emotion and fearlessness connect the playing and singing to audiences, to entertain and to thoroughly enjoy the experience of creating and sharing in music. Nashville, TN (November 10, 2014) - THE ROYS bring the holidays home with their newest CD, BLUEGRASS KINDA CHRISTMAS (Rural Rhythm Records), available now to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct, and to fans by pre-order at Walmart, Amazon and iTunes. The disc will be in stores November 18. THE ROYS' much-heralded sibling harmonies, spot-on lead vocals and agile musicianship shine a light on Christmas songs both new and old, creating a festive holiday ambience that's apropos for any seasonal celebration. Recorded during a hot Tennessee summer, BLUEGRASS KINDA CHRISTMAS features Elaine Roy (Guitar), Lee Roy (Mandolin, Mandocello, Mandola), Clint White (Fiddle), Daniel Patrick (Banjo, Dobro), Erik Alvar (Bass), and Josh Swift (Dobro*), and was recorded at THE ROYS' own studio in Hendersonville. "My memories of Christmas are so vivid," observes Elaine. "But most importantly, I think, was the complete sense of being loved that I felt at those family gatherings." For her brother Lee, the holidays were a time filled with music, family and fun - and this album presents those emotions as well. "The title track is actually the first Christmas song Elaine and I've written," he notes. "We wrote it with our buddy Steve Dean, and it's full of the energy and excitement I remember from being a kid." The 10-song collection hums with a warm and companionable feel that sets the stage for lively fiddle runs and the bell-like sounds of the mandolin. Crisp, clear notes resonate throughout, sparkling like the sun on snow. Each track is compelling, but Elaine's angelic vocal on "O Holy Night" is a standout: soft as candlelight, she brings an instant sense of peace - and images of Holy places to mind. Lee's stirring interpretation of "There's A New Kid In Town" (Curly Putnam/Keith Whitley/Don Cook) is another highlight; filled with mature gravitas and nuance. The pair never shies away from fun and they excel on the upbeat classics "Santa Looked Like A Lot Like Daddy" (Buck Owens/Don Rich) and"Christmas Times A Comin' " (Tex Logan). The busy Bluegrassers are already feeling the spirit of the season; on November 24, they'll make their first appearance at Country icon Charlie Daniels' annual Christmas 4 Kids benefit concert at the historic Ryman Auditorium. They'll wrap the 2014 touring season - appropriately - with a performance at the Christmas In The Smokies concert in Pigeon Forge, TN on December 13. BLUEGRASS KINDA CHRISTMAS Track Listing: 1.
