Composer Paul Mosley presents his new EP of ghostly, junk orchestra, folk-pop stories 'WINTERTIDE'

'Wintertide' - The epic title track updates the classic English Folk Carol 'I Saw Three Ships'... casting Red Meat Orchestra regulars Jack Harris, Esther Dee and Josienne Clarke as the three ships’ captains, stranded when the wintertide freezes, trapping their ships in the ice.
A new Mosley original in the classic folklore style this tale takes 'The Butcher's ghost story template and adds a classic Seventies singer-songwriter vibe full of feather light acoustic guitar, gorgeous group harmonies, Zappa-esque insistent percussion and growling bass saxophones.   Harris’s 3rd Captain tries to bargain with the furies who rule the oceans to spare his men - but will the fates be kind...?  

GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM award-winning vocal powerhouse Lee Ann Womack and country music icon Willie Nelson have just released a brand new version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside." Why is the world in love again? They Might Be Giants has announced the release of I Like Fun, a remarkable 15-track album to be released 19th January 2018. The band now announces that their extensive world tour includes 13 European dates, with 6 UK shows including their first at London’s prestigious Barbican Centre.

I Like Fun jumps with surprises, vitality, and the startling point of view of these Brooklyn originals. Over a year in the making, songwriters and band founders John Linnell and John Flansburgh draw on themes of dread, death, and disappointment and set them to their driving, hyper-melodic music. The results will leave even the most heavy-hearted among us with a renewed sense of wonder. Both members of the Grand Ole Opry, Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis have been enthralling audiences with their collaborative and highly entertaining Grits & Glamour Tour. Now, two of country music’s preeminent singers deliver a powerful album that combines their expressive voices with timeless songs and exquisite creative vision --- plus special guest appearances by Joe Diffie and Darryl Worley.

​On December 1st, Courtney Marie Andrews new rendition of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" will be featured on Amazon Music’s “Acoustic Christmas“ playlist, along with new songs from Josh Ritter, Noah Gunderson, Jim Lauderdale and many more . Two other popular Amazon playlists, “Indie For The Holidays” and “All Is Bright” will also receive new tracks to help listeners get into the festive spirit. Indie for the Holidays - The popular “Indie for the Holidays” playlist adds 18 new songs this holiday season, including tracks from some of the genre’s most acclaimed stars. Kevin Morby wraps up a banner year that saw the release of his widely lauded breakthrough City Music, by contributing a moody, crooning take on “Blue Christmas.” Charly Bliss, whose debut album Guppy has likewise seen widespread praise in 2017, offer a driving and delightful version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” DJ Camilo Lara’s Mexican Institute of Sound and indie rock mainstays Best Coast, Eisley, Albert Hammond Jr, and Dean & Britta also join the playlist for the first time this year. 

Additionally, Matt Costa recorded his own track, “Anything Helps,” for individuals who are less fortunate around the holidays. Costa says, “I recently saw a friend who fell to a dark place and was too embarrassed to ask for help. People joined funds together to get him back on his feet and into a warm bed with shelter. ‘Anything Helps’ is dedicated to those who have donated time and money to help people in a crisis. It tears me up to see people suffer. But it is encouraging to see extra strong people lift the burden of others. I put heavy consideration into the title so the song did not have a negative feeling, but would inspire people to look at these problems and think of positive ways to help.”

Acoustic Christmas – The 21 new tracks joining the “Acoustic Christmas” playlist include all-new compositions from acclaimed singer-songwriters Josh Ritter, The White Buffalo, and Noah Gunderson. Americana stalwarts Jim Lauderdale and Nicki Bluhm, also deliver new holiday originals, while buzzworthy newcomers including Courtney Marie Andrews and Noah Cyrus take on “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” respectively. Cyrus says of her rendition, “this song is a classic. We’ve been playing this song around my house since I was a little girl. Love this record!” 

Elsewhere, Joy Williams is joined by Birdtalker on the achingly beautiful “December Song” and indie singer-songwriter Sera Cahoone offers a mournful reading of “Last Christmas,” which resonates especially coming as it does one year after George Michael’s sudden passing in December, 2016. 

All is Bright - A trio of superstars and exciting newcomer, Abi Ann, join the “All Is Bright” Amazon Original playlist in 2017. GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM award-winning vocal powerhouse, Lee Ann Womack, is joined by the icon himself, Willie Nelson, on an incredibly charming version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” while singer-songwriter and bona fide pop star, Leona Lewis, offers a cozy, stripped-down take on her own “One More Sleep.” Lewis says, “I was so excited to record an acoustic version of ‘One More Sleep’, the song actually originally sounded more like this when we first worked on it, really soulful and stripped back. Writing an original Christmas song was something I always wanted to do, growing up so many of my favourite artists had Christmas albums so this song really is a dream come true.  I love the way it embodies the spirit of Christmas in such a fun way.’” Lastly but not to be outdone, Abi Ann gives adds her coy reading of “Santa Baby” to the playlist for 2017.

(Press Release) London-based independent label Xtra Mile Recordings (Frank Turner, Against Me!) and critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Will Varley are pleased to announce details of his fifth studio album, Spirit Of Minnie, which will be released on February 9, 2018 (pre-order). Following 2016’s much-praised Kingsdown Sundown and a sold out show at London’s Union Chapel, the new album marks a distinct change of direction for the singer-songwriter in that it is the first time he has recorded with a full backing band. 

Produced by Cameron McVey (Massive Attack, Portishead, Neneh Cherry), the new album expands on the pared-back musical palette of Varley’s previous sound, all the while retaining his gift for painterly, affirming and immediate lyric writing. Aided by McVey’s nuanced, widescreen production and the warm cascading sound of his new band, the lead-off single, “All Those Stars,” offers the perfect first glimpse into Spirit Of Minnie, straddling Will's sound and style from past to present. There is something special about two musicians in unison. Solo artists bear the brunt of pretty much everything – be it success or failure, joy or misery, it is all on their shoulders. Groups, meanwhile, are mostly perceived as ideal examples of democracy, when the reality is that they are governed by a benign dictator (if lucky) or a cruel despot (if not). Duos, on the other hand, are clearly in tune (and harmony) with themselves and each other.
 
As if proof were needed, take Oisin Leech and Mark McCausland as the perfect example. Having had previous lives in major label rock acts (respectively, The 747s and The Basement), the two Irish songwriters and musicians first met in 2007 after their bands had slowly slipped off the radar. “We both found ourselves at house parties in Liverpool,” recalls Oisin, “and discovered that we had the same musical tastes. We started writing songs together for fun – no strategies, no game plan.”

Nadine grew up in the picturesque Emmental, where her multi-instrumentalist mother introduced Nadine to the English-speaking world of soulful pop and first tastes of live music. Nadine moved to London in 2011 where she started exploring the London music scene, playing stripped back piano sets at venues such as The Bedford, Hoxton Underbelly, Proud Camden and living room gigs with Sofar Sounds. Nadine released her debut EP Spring Will Come in 2013 which climbed up the singer-songwriter iTunes charts and lead single Snowflake got a warm reception on BBC Introducing. Nadine released her second and more electronic EP Exile in 2015. Lead single This Isn't Love gained Clare Balding's attention who played it on BBC Radio 2.
